AMERICAN FLYER 596 OPERATING WATER TANK

| The 596 operating water tank was manufactured from 1946 until 1956, and is identical to the Pre-War version made from 1940 until 1942. There are four variations in the Post-War version. From 1946 to 1947 (type I), the tower has a dark grey base and wooden downspouts. The type II version has a black roof. The type III version had a grey roof and legs, and the type IV had black legs and roof. All versions trade around the same price, with none commanding more of a premium. A yellow directional decal was positioned on the roof of all versions, and there is a working light on top as well as the spout moving up and down. |
