636 ERIE DEPRESSED CENTER FLAT CAR

| The 636 depressed center flat was manufactured from 1948 until 1953. It came with a metal base and a reel in the center of the car with simulated tie downs. Lettering was black on the car and the reel was painted yellow. The car was equipped with a brake handle at each end of the flat and rode on three-axle tinplate trucks. Although a common car, it exuded a massive look, making it an impressive addition to any freight train. There are six variations to the 636 - all dealing with lettering or build dates with the exception of the variations with a pressed wood |
