| The 638 caboose was produced from 1949 through to 1953. There are many versions, both painted and unpainted, none of which command any price premium. The 638 was not illuminated, and rode on sheet metal trucks with weighted link couplers. Lettering was white - some cars read "AMERICAN FLYER" and others read "AMERICAN FLYER LINES". |
