First introduced by Plasticville in 1953 cataloged as "PO-1" and reintroduced in 1958 as kit "1602" - again in a one piece lift lid box with an Art Deco picture of a post office. Complete kit consists of 10 pieces. There are two variations of the Post Office kit and the difference is quite distintive. They are: 1) Tan walls, grey front with red lettering, grey roof, and two inserts and flag (common version), and 2) Tan walls, grey front wall with red lettering, red roof, and two inserts and flag (extremely rare). An authentic roof, grey or red, has a hole for the flag pole and small peg directly under the hole. Often missing are the flag, window inserts, clear door, or the lights which are also often broken.
