Introduced in 1952 and modeled after the typical 1940-50's New Jersey roadside diner. Total of 5 pieces to make complete kit. 1952-57 had a sleeve-type with blue borders and a picture of the dinner on top. Came in two versions, both with gray wall sides with either red or yellow trim and roof. Crome sided diners were only produced in 1954 and 55 with both yellow and red roofs and trim. In 1958 Plasticville changed the catalog number to 1500 and produced a very colorful sleeve-type box which remains pretty rare to this day. Still, the DE-7 has become a classic kit found on many layouts.
