Even in the mist of "The Great Depression", Lionel held it's own and released another classic catalog. A great year for Standard gauge trains. The 400E would see it's second catalog year, and the newly released 392E saw it's first of nine year catalog run. Also this was the first year Lionel cataloged landscaped scenic plots, mountains, and tunnels. Most of the O gauge items were repeats, with some electrics seeing a final year(4, 4U, 251, 251E, 253, 253E, 254, 254E). The meat and potatoes were the cataloged sets; 396E with 400E Blue Comet passenger set(Classic), 364E with 9E Stephen Girard passenger set, 409E with 381E State Green passenger set, 433E with 400E black and State Green passenger cars, 371E with 392E in black and Stephen Girard passenger cars, 411E with the State Brown 408E passenger set(at $97.50, the most expensive thing in the catalog, big bucks in 1932). O gauge included; 241E with 260E and red 700 series passenger cars, 239E with 260E and Frt. cars, 142E with 4U Bild-A-Loco and orange 600 series cars, and more. Tinplate is alive and strong in 1932, with all the major players represented(motive power, rolling stock, and accessories). All packed into 52 pages with Lionel's classic Art Deco illustrations. 1932 also features the #455 Electric Range for the little girl in the family at $29.95. A great catalog for prewar reference. The catalog cost .10 cents, one of the few with a printed price on the cover.
