Stellar piece in absolutely, mint condition. Totally intact with no torn pages. Has printed header for "GROFF'S HARDWARE", in New Holland, PA. Perfect piece for the Lionel paper collector. The Dealer Avertising Catalog was first introduced in 1952, this 16 paged paper pulp catalog was printed for dealer distribution and contained an area on the top cover for dealer name and address. An interesting piece, that's rarely found intact. Printed by "Distributors Advertising Promotions, Inc., Philadelphia" for Lionel. They would also print the retailers name and address too. This was a condensed version of the consumer catalog with all the highlight's for the year(sets, motive power, rolling stock, accessories, and track). The artwork front cover featured the brand new for 1954, 2321 Lackawanna Fairbanks-Morse. The back cover would also feature new items for 54(140 Banjo Signal, 50 Gang Car, 282 Portal Crane, 494 Rotary Beacon Tower, etc.). The interior pages were printed in black, red, and yellow. 1954 may be the best year for postwar Lionel. The year brought a greater variety of motive power and rolling stock. Also a classic year for boxed sets. New colorations by Lionel made outfits visually more appealing, therefore more saleable. New items included the 2321 Lackawanna FM, 2245 Texas Special F-3, 2356 Southern F-3, 6250 Seaboard NW-2, and steamer's(646, 665, 682, 2065). Seven new 6464 series boxcars were made in 54;-100 WP(blue feather), -100 WP(yellow feather), -125 Pacemaker,-150 MP, -175 RI, -200 PRR, and -225 SP. N ew rolling stock included 6446 cement car, 6356 stock car, 6672 reefer, and the 3562 operating barrel car in black and gray. The O gauge 2530 aluminum baggage car was another innovation(of which a rare large door version came in the 646 Hudson outfit #2222WS). Rare sets included; 2223W with Lackawanna 2321 with the rare 6464-100 blue feather boxcar, 2231W Southern ABA F-3 set, 2234W S.F. F-3 set with the rare
