        | Built in 1947. 6-8-6 black painted diecast body,  6200 decal on boiler front, Lionel Atomic slant  mounted motor, three position E-unit, headlight  lens, and smoke unit. T671W early coal tender.  Lionel precision motor with tubular brush plates,  and thick nickel rims on all drivers. With a 671W  tender. The Irvington 2625 (1946-1950) was the  first car introduced as a deluxe heavyweight  passenger car Post-War. Originally made before  World War 2 with a six wheel tinplate truck and  box couplers, Post-War production contained a new  six wheel truck with knuckle couplers. The names  Madison and Manhattan, both with the same  number, were added in 1947This created  three cars with the same number but with three  different namesIn 1948, Madison was assigned  the number 2627 and Manhattan was assigned the  car number 2628The white heat-stamped  markings  included the words "Lionel Lines" above  the  windows. 1947 production is unique because the  first "L" of the words "Lionel Lines" is located  to the left of the first window in the center  window group. The cars were cataloged as three  car  sets with various locos. Having first  shipped sets of cars with the same name during  1946,  confusion abounded in 1947, with many sets (if  not  most) still containing three Irvingtons or  two of one name and one of another. Finding a set  of three 1947 cars with all names is extremely  unusual. The cars were made of smooth bakelite  and  the paint had difficulty adhering.
