| Brakeman ducks down to avoid hitting tell-tale, returns to the upright position when it clears the tell-tale. Bar-end diecast trucks with magnetic couplers. Metal brake wheel. Nice looking car in any train set even if you don't operate it! Built from 1956 until 1958. Came in a dark or a light blue color with a white or blue brakeman - the white colored man is more common. NOTE: A complete car came with two 3424-80 pole support bases into which two poles with telltales are inserted, two 3424-85 O-27 track contacts, two 3424-86 O gauge track contacts, and an instruction sheet packed into a 3424-94 envelope. Both the two pole assemblies 3424-100X and the envelope were packed in a box marked "No. 3424- 100 LOW BRIDGE SIGNAL SET", and all these were packed in a box with the car as far as we know. These boxes are hard to find and command hefty prices for the box alone! A seperate sale set of telltales (without car) was offered in a similar small box with catalog number 3424-75. The 3424- 75 box recently sold on eBay for $300! |
