Built between 1957 and 1960. Red molded frame with car number and LIONEL heat-stamped in white letters on the side. The type 1 car - the original produced in 1957, has bar-end metal trucks mounted on blued steel mounting plates and "6800" heat-stamped on the right. The 1958 model (type 2) has AAR-type trucks riveted directly to the body with the number remaining on the right. The type 3 was produced later in 1958 and the heat-stamped number was moved to the left of the word "Lionel". The load is a yellow and black model of a Beechcraft Bonanza airplane with retractable landing gear and folding wings. The original planes have identifying markings molded into the underside of the fuselage. These markings read "No. 6800-60 AIRPLANE THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK, N.Y. MADE IN U.S. OF AMERICA". Aircraft is unpainted and assembled in two ways, either black upper surfaces and yellow propeller or yellow upper surfaces with black propeller.
