|  Item pw-cal-45ORIGINAL 1945 PRR WALL CALENDAR ALEXANDER

        | The PRR would introduce their classic large wall artwork calendars in 1916. They continued to depict painted train scenes until 1958, when PRR replaced them with a small, non-artwork version (by 1958 PRR was already in merger discussions with the NYC). This 1945 version showcases the 1944 painting "Power" by Hungarian painter and NYC resident Alexander Leydenfrost. The print was on the top, and 12 pages were on the bottom - from January 1945 to December 1945 inclusive. Each page is a three month - previous, current, and future month to view. Measures approx. 28 inches square with metal headers on the top and bottom. Classic piece of past railroad history for the train room (great when framed!).This example was not used - has a complete calendar (NOS) but has some tears around the edges (framing would minimise this). Comes with the attached certificate - a hard to find piece! |
