        | The PRR would introduce their classic large wall artwork calendars in 1916. Griff Teller would paint his first in 1929, and continue until 1958 when PRR replaced them with a small, non-artwork version (by 1958 PRR was already in merger discussions with the NYC). This 1958 version (Teller's last for the PRR), showcases the classic Conway freight yard 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, along the Ohio River. As of 1958, this was the largest yard operated by the Pennsy. A beautiful colorful view of this expansive yard. Measures approx. 28 inches square with metal headers on the top and bottom. Full calander pad started with December 1953. Classic piece of past railroad history for the train room (great when framed!).This example has a five inch tear by the left of the metal header, with some small paper pieces missing. Full calendar shows this piece is NOS and was never used. |
