Wooden Stacking Trains have been around for many, many years. They are a preschool favorite because they entertain and challenge young children at the same time. The beauty of this toy is that a child can play with it alone and have fun exploring it, taking it apart and putting it together in various ways. Or they can play with it just as a train that goes Choo Choo. But it has educational benefits as well...the toy can be used with an adult's guidance to help the child develop cognitive skills. Because the train can be built a number of ways, the adult can configure the train a unique way--then the adult can allow the child to study the setup for a brief period of time, after which the adult dismantles the train. It is then up to the child to reconstruct the configuration. This method is a wonderful way to teach a child to concentrate, observe, study, memorize and reconstruct...which are all very important for a developing mind! This train is perfectly sized for young hands. The l ength of the train is nearly eighteen inches from front to back when fully configured. And it stands nearly six inches tall.
