Lionel 6-12771

MOM'S ROADSIDE DINER

The 6-12772 Roadside Diner was so successful in 1988-89 that Lionel decided to reissue it with a different color scheme. Mom's was Built between 1900 and 1991. It had a dark brown base with light yellow dining car with gray roof. They used the identical body from a 9500-series passenger car. On the roof is a sign that reads "MOM'S." This item features interior illumination as well as window silhouettes. However, the coolest feature is definitely that it has a smoke unit. To quote the side of the box, "This roadside diner s ends smoke wafting across your layout, creating the illusion of a busy grill..." This would be a great addition to any operating layout.
