AMTRAK HHP-8 ELECTRIC ENGINE

 

This powerful engine can be seen running through the heart of NJ from the Hudson tunnel to Trenton on the way to Washington DC and Boston on the Amtrak electified mainline.
  • Not since the GG-1 retired in 1983 has NJ seen such a beautiful and exciting streamlined electric capable of speeds up to 125 mph. HHP stand for High Horse Power 8000 (hp) which is almost twice as powerful as the GG-1.
  • Lionel's engine runs on 036 curves and will operate on TMCC (as well as Legacy) or conventional layouts. Also features Dual motors, opening doors, directional headlighting, diecast metal trucks, realistic horn and bell sound, moveable pantographs, and super detail.
