NICKLE PLATE SUPERPOWER BERKSHIRE 4-8-2 LOCOMOTIVE

| Berkshires were a new steam locomotive design with a 4-8-2 wheel arrangement. They could haul many more cars much faster than older locos, and were hailed as 'superpower' by the railroad world. The Nickle Plate's were amoung the most famous versions. This Lionel model of the loco is all metal with no plastic nor other cost saving shortcuts, and has everything we expect from a Lionel Loco. It can negotiate the tight curves of any O or O-27 layout. It is equipped with transformer controlled forward, neutral and reverse; operating coupler; and digital railsounds (including whistle, chuffing, crew announcement, bell and brakesqueal). With a maintenance free motor this loco will run for many, many years just like all the Lionel locos of yesteryear. |
