BIG BLUE CONRAIL 86 HI-CUBE BOXCAR SET

  • With demanding just-in-time delivery schedules, railroads are a vital link in the automotive assembly line. Conrail served more parts and assembly plants than any other railroad and operated one of the largest fleets of these specialized boxcars.
  • Designed mainly for hauling auto parts, Pullman 86' Hi-Cube boxcars were first built in the 1960's and remain a common and colorful site on the railroads today. As you see on railroads today, the last car in the train consist comes equipped with an end of train device light instead of a caboose.
