| Blue Streak, set was cataloged by Lionel in 1973- 74. Made during Lionel's General Mills ownership, commonly known as the Lionel MPC era. This set has become somewhat rare and desirable, based on the Central Railroad of New Jersey roadname's popularity. Also it's Blue Comet paint scheme on the steamer. Features; 8303 Jersey Central 2-4-2 engine & tender w/painted plastic molded body & embossed lettering - electronic e- unit/ smoke/ headight - electronic Mighty Sound of Steam - 9043 EL plug-door boxcar - 9020 UP flatcar - 9140 Burlington gondola w/canisters - 9136 Republic Steel gondola - 9013 CN hopper - 9069 Jersey Central caboose - 6 straight & 8 curved O-27 track setions - 4150 transformer. Condition is likenew without set box. The engine and tender are crisp with unblemished bodies. Runs like a champ, with working sound. Smoke works but lightly, cheaper MPC smoke unit. All cars are like new, no stakes on the flatcar. neat simple set for the collector, and or Jersey Central lover. |
