| This is the all time largest selling and greatest set that the Train Station has ever had. Originally scheduled for delivery in 1984 after Lionel moved to Mexico, it wasn't produced until 1986 after Lionel moved back to Michigan after Dick Kughn bought Lionel - it was the first set off the line after the Michigan factory was re-opened. Many parts were lost and the factory only gave us 1/2 our order, but we managed to deliver over 700 sets to our customers and have been trying to keep up with demand ever since We have retired our demonstrator and put him on permanent display in a place of honor in the store The mighty SD-40 is an awesome puller with 2 motors and magnetraction, and there isn't anything ever made that runs any better None of the cars was cataloged seperately and all have metal trucks with springs, and all are pretty tough to find Whether you want this set for a collection or to run, you can't go wrong.
