ROCK ISLAND 4-8-4 LOCOMOTIVE + TENDER

***This boiler and cab design was a new casting used by Lionel for the Rock Island, Lackawanna and Northern Pacific 4-8-4 steamers. It has never been used again for reasons we don't understand. 4-8-4's were called 'Northerns' because the Northern Pacific was the first road to produce one. The Lackawanna followed soon followed suit, and called their's Poconos. A note for collectors is that these new loco castings were the first new castings made after Richard Kughn acquired Lione (LTI) FEATURES:
  • Magna-Traction, Pullmor Motor
  • Puffing Smoke From The Stack
  • Illuminated Headlight and Number Boards
  • Remote Controlled Forward/Neutral/Reverse Operation
  • Tender Features Electronic Mighty Sound Of Steam, Electronic Whistle
