NORFOLK SOUTHERN DASH 8-40C DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE

Good runner. Headed the 11718 Norfolk Southern unit train, the top-of-the line Collector set in 1992. A matching unit was added in 1994. Note: the catalog lists this as "18689", as does its box, but the official catalog number assigned by Lionel is 18207. The 18200s were the series designated for the higher-end diesels, whereas the 18600s were all small steam engines. Features: black body: white NS wind logo on sides: white horse insignia on ends; "8689" on cab; cab lights; headlights and flashing warning light on the cab roof; electronic horn; dual modified Type ll motors; MagneTraction; three-position electronic reverse unit (on of its first appearrances); die- cast six-wheel trucks; die-cast frame with chain links on railings; snowplow; operating couplers at both ends; and an engineer figure. All yours for the highest bid. Likenew/NO BOX
