DELAWARE & HUDSON OPERATING BRAKEMAN CAR

 

Produced by Lionel in 1992. One of the few operating brakeman cars produced in the LTI/LLC era. This was the first brakeman produced since the postwar #3424 Wabash from 1956-58. The figure who normally rides standing on top of the car. When the car reaches a "low-bridge" signal, indicating that the train is approaching a tunnel, or overhead obstruction, the brakeman drops flat to aviod being hit. After the car passes the obstruction and reaches the second "low-bridge", the brakeman rises upright again. Features; palstic molded body, rubber figure afixed on catwalk, two sets of tell tales, die-cast bar-end trucks, and authentic D&H paint scheme and graphics. This car retailed for $69.95 in 1992.
