PENNSY 5 STRIPE TUSCAN F3 AA DIESELS (1979)

NEW AND UNBOXED..
  • Pennsylvania RR F-3 AA, produced by Lionel 1979-1980 (uncataloged in 79, cataloged in '80). Collector pressure prompted Lionel to issue PRR F-3's in tuscan to match the cataloged Congressional aluminum passenger cars from 79. These were the first PRR F-3's made in Lionel's history, along with the Brunswich green AA set also from 79. FEATURES: classic Lionel plastic molded F-3 bodies, authentic PRR Congressional tuscan paint scheme with 5 gold stripes & Pennsy's "Keystone" logo on each nose, ornamental roof horns, front nose grab irons, dual Type II motors, eight wheel tire traction, die-cast frames/pilots/trucks/fuel tanks, iluminated cab interior, clear portholes, clear window glass, dummy A numbered #8971. This set is somewhat difficult to obtain, in part because Lionel never made any Postwar PRR F-3's. A matching B-Unit was offered in 1980 (6-8060) and is one of the most difficult 'B' Units to locate.
