PREWAR ILLUMINATED STATION PLATFORM

This station platform was cataloged prewar 1939- 42, but was also available postwar 1946-51. The base and roof were Bakelite, painted green and red respectively, while the posts supporting the roof were silver-painted die-cast parts. Two lights were installed under the roof and four lithographed tin miniature billboards hung from the picket fences. The aluminum pigment shortage of 1942 caused the color of the posts to be changes to 92 gray.
