Lionel pre-265e black
265E BLACK COMMODORE VANDERBILT(1936)

| The 265E was the deluxe version of the 264E. Introduced the same year, the two locomotives differed in that the 265E incorporated an eccentric crank and associeted rods, giving it a more pleasing and realistic appearance. As first issued, the 265E was painted black and was supplied with the 261TX tender. This tender did not include a rear coupler, but instead had a second drawdar that was used to connect the string of chrome articulated passenger cars that came with it. |
