Lionel pre-296 set
PEACOCK GREEN 253 LOCO WITH 3 PASSENGER CARS
Set 296 Consisted of a 253 loco or a 252, two #607 Pullmans and a #608 Observation Car. Manufactured in one form or another from 1928-1936, it appeared mostly in peacock with orange trim or in Stephen Girard, also commonly called apple green. The engine could have had a manual or electronic reverse unit depending on the year. This particular set is in peacock green with a manual reserving unit. Both the engine and cars have brass journal boxes and the engine has red-solid wheels. The master carton indicates that this set was built between 1929 and 1934. |
