2530 RAILWAY EXPRESS AGENCY LARGE DOOR BAGGAGE CAR

 

Built in 1954 only. Early production example. Extruded aluminum body with ribbed upper and lower channels and flat middle channel, two plain ends, not lighted, type VIII O gauge passenger trucks. Large door versions were early in the 1954 production - a construction change was soon made to strengthen the car sides by making the door openings smaller. Small doors were used for the rest of the production run, making this a rare and desirable car.
