LIONEL 313 BASCULE BRIDGE

The Bascule Bridge is a remarkable accessory. Designed to shut down track power to both sides of the bridge once the bridge starts to open, and re-powers the track when the bridge closes. Painted diecast base. Painted stamped steel superstructure - house and floor frame. Houses produced with and without doors. Built from 1940 to 1942 and again from 1946 to 1949. This bridge can be used on an even, level floor without the need for grade approaches, or it can be used to span a gulf or chasm in the model railroad layout.
