in 1962 with rare separate sale box 6017- 235
  • S.P. (Southern Pacific) type red painted body with white heat-stamped lettering, no delux features, AAR trucks with one operating coupler and one fixed coupler
  • Did not have illumination, window inserts, smokestack, ladders, or battery boxes
  • Most versions are found without the box
  • These would be stored 50 to a reusable carton (this is where they would often get nicked or scratched)
