LIONEL 6428 UNITED STATES MAIL CAR

 

This car was available in 1960 and 1961, then again in 1965 and 1966. This red, white and blue US Mail box car was basically a tail-end 1960's item using the 6464 body mold. It came with plastic trucks with operating couplers on both ends, and with bar-end metal trucks as well. The box was always an orange perforation window box. Great paint scheme.
