736 BERKSHIRE FREIGHT SET SUPER O (1957)

 

Top of the line steam set for 1957, and the first Super O Berkshire set. This set would include all repeat rolling stock items. The 823 is the rarer department store issue, 2289WS being the more common standard issue. The outfit box was also the new tan/brown basket weave look that was introduced exclusively for Super O. The engine was boxed without a liner in a corrugated carton(engine was wrapped in paper). While the tender and all the components came in Late Classic boxes. Contents included; 736 Bershire steam locomotive with headlight, smoke, and magnetraction; 2046W Lionel lines whistle tender; 3359 operating twin-bin ore car; 3494-275 State of Maine operating boxcar; 3361 operating log car; 6430 flat with Cooper-Jarrett vans(should be white); 6427 NC5 porthole caboose; Super O track, 12 curves, 3 straight, 1 insulated, and 39-20 operating track packet; two 160 dump bins, SP smoke pill bottle, How to Operate booklet, 1957 Service Station booklet, 1957 billboard sheet, and directions(736, 3361, 3494-275, 3359, and Super O set track directions.
