The convetional operated Polar Express steamers. Starting in 2011, Lionel would only make LionChief remote RTR starter sets from that point on. The Polar Express has fast become the most popular Lionel Set of all time. This massive Berkshire 2-8-4 locomotive heads the Polar Express as the train transports wide-eyed kids on a hair-raising adventure to the North Pole where the children learn to believe. The Locomotive is an upscale all metal Berkshire exactly like the engine in the Movie. With 8 drive wheels it has everything expected in a Lionel Locomotive, including remote controlled forward, neutral, and reverse; headlight; smoke; whistle and operating coupler.
