Made between 1928 and 1933. 12" in length (without couplers). Came in seven variations:

Type I: Green cab, black frame

Type II: Red cab, black frame

Type III: Green cab, gray frame

Type IV: Red cab, grey frame

Type V: Green cab, grey frame, oiling hole on side, and two plates stating "BUILT BY 'American Flyer' LINES"

Type VI: Red cab, grey frame, oiling hole on side, and two plates stating "BUILT BY 'American Flyer' LINES"

Type VII: Red cab, grey frame, and two brass plates per side stating "4644" and "NATION/WIDE/LINES"
