LIONEL 516 RED COAL HOPPER NO LOAD

Built from 1928 until 1940. Red body, black frame, brass plates, brass trim, brass ladders and brake wheels, and nickel brass journals. Heavy steel construction. By turning a brass hand wheel, the bottoms of the car open. Came with or without simulated metal coal load. As originally produced, the cars had trucks with nickel journals, brass trim and brass plates with black lettering. Came with brass ladders and brake wheels, and with brass or nickel plates.
