2026's were produced with two separate wheel arrangements. In 1948 and 1949, they had a 2-6-2 wheel arrangement based on the older 1666 with feedwater heater, box added to pilot, sand dome enlarged, smoke, light, sliding shoe pickups, drive rod, connecting rod, eccentric crank, diecast trailing truck, and steel rimmed drivers. The 6466WX tender had staple-end trucks, whistle, stainless steel handrails, and a smoke piston driven by cam on inside of front driver (which may be a varation). They were produced again from 1951 to 1953 as a 2-6-4 with no eccentric crank, roller pickups, spoked sintered metal wheels, no tires, no Magentraction, and a four-wheel stamped sheet metal trailing truck with a 6466W, 6466T or 6066T tender ("T" designates tender without whistle, "W" includes whistle). |
