| Norfolk and Western operating hopper. Plunger activated. Black painted body with heat-stamped letters. Coal is unloaded when the doors on the bottom are opened with the push of a button. Designed to be used with the 456 coal ramp. Early versions have diecast staple-end trucks with magnetic couplers, later versions have diecast bar-end trucks with magnetic couplers. Built from 1954 until 1955. |
