| Built in 1949 only. Black painted diecast body, E-unit slot, and silver rubber-stamped cab number. For 1949, the nickel rims were removed from all drivers. This is the last of the 671 steam turbines, and it came with the best tender of all - the streamlined 2671W six-wheeler. The tender deserves special mention - not only is it correctly equipped with six wheel trucks, but a few were made with three holes for back-up lights. The six wheel tenders are scarce, not only because they were issued only with the 1948 and 1949 turbines, but also because many people grabbed them for use with other locos, leaving many 1948 and 1949 671's with lesser tenders! |
