It is with heavy hearts that the Shaw family announces the passing of Donald Shaw on Friday, February 28th at the age of 94. Don passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Don founded The Train Station in Mountain Lakes in 1974 as a way to share his passion of Lionel Trains with others and grow the hobby within our community. Originating in the Lackawanna Mountain Lakes train station as a temporary weekend sales room, the store eventually planted its roots in the building it currently resides in on Romaine Road.
The Train Station has maintained its status as a top 10 dealer of Lionel Trains since 1974 providing unparalleled sales and service. Don was known and respected in the model train community for his abundant knowledge of Post War Lionel Trains.
He continued to come into work through this past holiday season, and would say
“it’s not work when you get to play with trains every day!”
